Velenje to Dravograd Road Ride Across Two Regions
Two regions, one day: this point-to-point ride leaves Velenje in Alpine Slovenia and finishes in Dravograd in Pannonian Slovenia, entirely on paved roads. It suits road cyclists and e-bike riders who want a steady, moderate outing rather than a hard mountain day. The route stays between about 330 and 640 m, so the effort comes in waves rather than one long haul. Early on there is a gentle climb of around 3 km at an easy 3%, then a second, slightly firmer rise of similar length that brings you to the high point of the ride. Gradients peak at about 8%, and after that the road eases down towards Dravograd. Allow roughly an hour and three quarters at a relaxed pace. May to September is the best window for it.
