Radizel to Žetale: Pannonian Road Ride
Most of this point-to-point ride is gentle, and the real work is saved for the end. It starts at Radizel, around 232 m above sea level, and finishes high above the start at 591 m. It suits road cyclists and e-bike riders who like a quiet run through Pannonian Slovenia with a sting in the tail. The first part is easy going. A long, barely noticeable drift upwards takes up about 10 km, and it lets you settle into a rhythm. Later a short, steady climb of about 2 km at 7% leads towards Žetale. Beyond the village the road turns properly steep: roughly 1.5 km at an average of 15%, with pitches up to 17%. Only a small share of the route is unpaved. Spring and summer, from April to September, are the best months. Keep some energy back for the last kilometres, or use the e-bike's assistance there.
