Bled Hills and Kosmačev Preval Loop
Blejsko jezero sits behind you as the road pulls away from Bled and into the hills above the lake. This fully paved 45 km loop suits road cyclists and e-bike riders after a half-day in Alpine Slovenia, rising to a high point at Kosmačev preval, at 845 m. The climbing comes in stages. A steady opening rise passes below the peaks of Radoljca and Kočevnik, then a long, gentle push carries you over the pass. Beyond it the road sweeps down toward the Sava Dolinka and through Jesenice, before a short, sharper climb of about 3 km at 5% leads back toward Bled. The small lake at Kreda breaks up the middle of the ride, and the river Radovna runs alongside on the final approach. May through September offer the best conditions. Jesenice has a handful of cafés for a break before that last climb.
